Our Audiological Team

Rebecca Wood

Rebecca is one of the Principal Audiologists and Centre Manager of Melbourne Audiology Centre. Rebecca Graduated from Melbourne University with a Masters of Clinical Audiology, after completing her Arts degree majoring in Psychology. Rebecca has worked in a variety of clinical settings in both the public and private sectors, as well as with one of the leading hearing aid manufacturers. Rebecca is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia, and holds a Certificate of Clinical Practice.

Rebecca's special interest areas are dealing with clients with complex needs and aural rehabilitation.

 

     

Diane Smith

Diane joined the MAC team in 2007. Diane has over 20 years experience as a clinical audiologist in a variety of settings across both the public and private sectors. She has a keen interest in all aspects of rehabilitative audiology and tinnitus treatment and counseling.

Diane holds a Graduate Diploma in Audiology from the University of Melbourne, an Honours Degree in Science from Monash University as well as being a full Member of the Audiological Society of Australia with a Certificate of Clinical Practice.

 

     

Fiona Savati

Fiona came to Melbourne Audiology Centre with over 15 years clinical experience. Fiona graduated from Melbourne University with an Honours Degree and a Diploma in Audiology. She started her career in the public sector in Sydney, and moved back to Melbourne where she has held several senior clinical and management positions.

Fiona’s special interest is in Central Auditory Processing ans she enjoys testing both children and adults alike. Fiona is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia, and holds a Certificate of Clinical Practice.

 

     

Katherine Fournaris

Katherine completed a Graduate Diploma in Audiological Science and a Masters of Clinical Audiology at Melbourne University following completion of her Bachelor of Science degree at Monash University.

She is an experienced audiologist who has worked in various roles over the years including paediatric audiology, tinnitus specialist and adult hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation in the public and private sectors throughout Victoria and interstate regions. Her senior role at Melbourne Audiology Centre mainly involves adult hearing assessments, rehabilitation, hearing aid selection and fitting which she has a keen interest in. She is also a qualified specialist in the Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment and provides tinnitus counselling services.

Katherine is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia and holds a Certificate of Clinical Practice.

 

     

Rebecca Lynch

Rebecca is based in our Fitzroy and Dandenong clinics. She is a fully qualified Audiometrist with over five years experience in the public sector and private practice. Rebecca's specialties include counselling and rehabilitation and she has a keen interest in tinnitus management and counseling.

Rebecca is also a member of The Australian College of Audiology.

 

     

Sharon Cowan

Sharon graduated with a Masters in Clinical Audiology from the University of Queensland after completing an undergraduate Honours degree in Psychophysiology. Sharon has over 8 years of clinical experience with a range of hearing aid providers across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, working in both private practice and a hospital setting.

She is a Member of the Audiological Society of Australia, with a Certificate of Clinical Practice. Sharon works in our Fitzroy and Thomastown clinics. Her special interest in auditory processing adds diversity to our client services here at Melbourne Audiology.

 

     

Tegan Denehy

Tegan has recently qualified as an Audiometrist and enjoys working alongside the calibre of clinical staff that MAC has to offer. Tegan is enthusiastic about her career and is looking forward to furthering her professional development in such a fantastic environment.

 

     

Susan Collie

Susan graduated from the Masters of Clinical Audiology at the University of Melbourne in 2003, after completing her undergraduate degrees in Arts and Science. Susan joins us after having worked in the public sector, and is looking forward to new challenges.  Susan has extensive experience fitting hearing aids to a wide range of people.

Susan is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia and holds a Certificate of Clinical Practice.

 

     

Jamuna Arasu

Jamuna graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 with a Masters of Clinical Audiology; after completing her Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Honours in Pharmacology. She has spent the past few years working in the public sector and is experienced in adult hearing aid fittings. Jamuna enjoys working with a variety of clients and specialises in rehabilitative audiology. She is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia and holds a Certificate of Clinical Practice.

 

     

Jenny She

Jenny She has been working as an audiologist since May 2008 and is experienced in adult hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings. She enjoys being able to make a positive difference in people's lives. She was previously working as a technician at a milk powder factory but felt she needed a change and obtained a Master of Audiology Degree from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. She is a full member of the Audiologoical Society of Australia and holds a Certificate of Clinical Practice.
 

     

Our Customer Service Team

Mary Giftakis

Mary is the efficient and friendly Receptionist at Melbourne Audiology Centre’s office in Fitzroy. Mary has been with the company for 6 years, after working for many years in the customer service industry. She looks after the day to day running of the four clinics and is experienced in on-site hearing aid repairs. She is always available to help with all your hearing aid needs and queries.

 

     

Youlia Michaylov

Youlia is the principal Accountant at Melbourne Audiology Centre. She is highly experienced with a keen eye for detail; she is in charge of all the financial aspects of the company. Youlia has more than 20 years accounting experience both in Australia and overseas.

Youlia has a Master Degree in Economy/Accounting having majored in Accountancy from the University of National and World Economy (Sofia, Bulgaria).Youlia has been a member of the National Institute of Accountants since 2002 where she continues her professional development.

 

     

Flavia Bottazzi

Flavia joined MAC in 2006 as our insurance administrator; she is responsible for all the back-office duties for our WorkCover clients and deals with insurance companies on a daily basis. Flavia is also the friendly voice you occasionally hear when a helping hand at reception is needed.

Flavia has worked in diverse fields such as the banking and hospitality industries. She completed various courses and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Italian so it is no coincidence she is also our Italian/English interpreter for our Italian clientele.

 

     

Despina Amanatidou

Despina has been working with Melbourne audiology Centre for 3 years, as the receptionist at our Thomastown Centre.  Despina love communicating with clients on a day to day basis, which is an easy task for Despina as she is fluent in numerous languages, such as Greek, Italian and German. She holds a Bachelor in Archaeology and Art/History.

Despina has an acute eye for detail and is always keen on listening, understanding and ultimately meeting the needs of clients.

 

     

Toula Andreakos

Toula is the newest member in the customer service team. Her duties range from administrative to interpreting. She has a bachelor of Business/Arts and can fluently speak Greek and Indonesian. Toula has recently come back from overseas where she worked in the hospitality Industry.
